Folyn is engineered for students who need practical, dependable tools without sacrificing the ownership or privacy of their work.
1. Client-Side First Processing
Whenever technically possible, file processing executes entirely on your physical computer inside your browser tab:
- PDF Tools: Page extraction, merging, and rotation run via WebAssembly in your browser memory. Your PDFs are never uploaded to our servers.
- Image Tools: Resizing, compression, and format conversions leverage HTML5 Canvas API in your local graphics pipeline.
- Document Editor: Your draft content is autosaved continuously to your browser's private
localStorage.
2. Ephemeral Server Policy
If a specific task requires server-side capabilities, Folyn enforces strict data isolation:
- Temporary files are stored in cryptographically random UUID directories.
- Files are automatically purged as soon as processing completes or within 60 minutes via automated cleanup.
- We never inspect, analyze, or train machine learning models on student documents.
3. No Accounts or Tracking
